Wear performance of conventional (ARCOM) and highly crosslinked acetabular liners in bilateral total hip arthroplasty

Wear of the bearing surfaces continue to be one of the most important factors compromising the long-term outcome of total hip arthroplasty. Highly crosslinked polyethylene (PE) liners have been shown to have favorable wear performance in vitro. The objective of this self-matched study was to compare the clinical wear performance of highly crosslinked PE with conventional (ARCOM) PE in the same patient.
