The Use of Trabecular Metal Implants for Paprosky 3A and 3B Defects
Steven Weeden; Robert SchmidtHip
In hip revision, complex defects are difficult to reconstruct. Reports suggest that traditional porous implants and cages may fail in more severe bone defects. The author has published a higher failure rate of traditional implants in type 3 defects. This study reports the early success of trabecular metal (TM) implants in this difficult reconstruction.
