The relationship between femoral bone loss and outcome with a modular revision hip stem

Modular stems are used extensively in revision hip surgery to treat mild and severe cases of bone loss. The purpose of this prospective study was to analyze the performance of a modular revision hip system (SROM™, DePuy Inc,Warsaw, IN) applied to two cohorts of patients randomized to hydroxylapatite (HA) coated or porous surface with a range of proximal bone loss.
