Revision Total Knee Replacement: A national service reconfiguration vis-à-vis GIRFT

Average life expectancy continues to increase through advances in medical research and health promotion and as such an ever increasingly ageing population continues to grow and with it the incidence of chronic degenerative diseases (i.e. osteoarthritis). Consequently, the volume of primary total knee replacement (TKR) is steadily rising and with it, inevitably the burden of revision TKR will rise too.
