Neutrophil activity in total knee replacement: implications in preventing post-arthroplasty infection

The BASK Fellowship was undertaken in the Institute of Nephrology, University Hospital of Wales with the clinical aspect of the study at Llandough Hospital, Cardiff. The molecular biology input was provided by Dr Nicholas Topley in the institute who has considerable expertise in the field of neutrophil study in nephrology. Mr Ian Pallister, consultant orthopaedic and trauma surgeon, had already undertaken an orthopaedic fellowship at the same institute studying neutrophil activity in relation to trauma.
