Two hundred four primary total hip arthroplasties (THAs) were performed with a porous acetabular component inserted with screws (HG-1, Zimmer, Warsaw, Ind). The mean age at the time of surgery was 52 years. At 20 years, 71 patients died and 4 were lost to follow-up.
