Bone-Remodeling Around Cementless Acetabular Components: Intermediate-Term Follow-up of a Randomized, Prospective Study

As opposed to femoral implants, bone remodeling around cementless acetabular components after total hip arthroplasty (THA) has not been well-characterized. Few studies exist and are limited to short-term follow-up. This study quantifies periacetabular bone density after THA at intermediate-term follow-up and compares stress-shielding around implants of 2 different materials.
