Improvement of locomotor function and pain are the primary goals for total knee arthroplasty. Questionnaires are beneficial but marginal for measuring improved patient function. We hypothesized that an easily administered test that measures the ability to stand, walk, and climb would provide a useful outcome measure for patients undergoing knee replacement.
