What’s New in Total Hip Arthroplasty

Total hip arthroplasty continued to receive much attention during the past year. The demand for total hip arthroplasty continues to increase. Following the outlines from previous updates, this year’s review is organized in the following sections: (1) epidemiology and public health, (2) clinical outcome of primary total hip arthroplasty, (3) clinical outcome of revision total hip arthroplasty, (4) current status of minimal incision total hip arthroplasty, (5) hip resurfacing, (6) complications, (7) bearing surfaces, and (8) other clinical and scientific studies.
