The Technique of Total Hip Arthroplasty

Thomas A. Einhorn, M.D.
Hip

Total hip arthroplasty has become one of the most commonly performed operations in orthopedic surgery. In the 1970s this operation was considered to be a challenging procedure requiring specialized training, but in the 1990s it is a mainstay of the orthopedic generalist’s repertoire. A textbook providing a good, comprehensive overview of the technique would therefore be a welcome addition to the bookshelves of surgeons, but this book falls short of achieving that goal.
