Austin T. Moore (1899-1963), and Harold Ray Bohlman (1893-) published an original case report in the Recorder of the Columbia Medical Society in South Carolina in 1942, and in the Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery a year later. This was the first known report on metallic hip replacement in a patient.
