Post-Discharge Costs in Arthroplasty Surgery

Previous research has documented increasing expenditures on primary hip and knee arthroplasty surgeries. Post-discharge costs associated with these procedures have received limited attention in the literature. Our objective was to assess costs incurred after discharge from an acute care setting in primary hip and knee arthroplasty and to use this information to estimate total US post-discharge expenditures.
