Restoring the normal alignment of the lower extremity is a fundamental goal of total knee arthroplasty (TKA) and computer guided navigation. A recent study has challenged this premise, suggesting that well-aligned knees have worse survival than outliers. The objective of this study is to determine the importance of overall anatomic alignment as a predictor for revision in a large sample with long term follow-up. In particular, the relative importance of overall alignment and tibial component position was examined.
