Low-molecular-weight heparins provide effective venous thromboembolism (VTE) prophylaxis in total hip and total knee arthroplasty (THA/TKA). Wound problems using these agents have created concerns for surgeons. The purpose of this study is to report on the efficacy/complications using Lovenox in THA/TKA patients, with prospective surgical site monitoring.
