3–6 year results of a prospective randomized study using an S-ROM stem and a metal-on-metal hip articulation for primary hip replacement

Polyethylene wear and osteolysis have become problems that can affect the long-term durability of hip replacements. Alternate bearing surfaces are one alternative that may improve this situation. This study reports the early results of a randomized prospective study using a metal-on-metal articulation.
